The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons invites outstanding candidates to apply for TENURE-TRACK faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor. The department seeks individuals with exceptional accomplishments and abilities in the broad area molecular biophysics. Examples include, but are not limited to: macromolecular structure, function and dynamics; computational modeling and simulation; single molecule studies; and biophysical studies of phenomena on or in cells. We seek colleagues committed to scientific excellence, collaboration and collegiality.
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics offers a rigorous and stimulating environment for conducting research. Faculty use the full spectrum of contemporary biophysical, biochemical, molecular biological, and cellular techniques to study developmental biology; gene expression, regulation and signal transduction; macromolecular structure, function, and dynamics; and molecular neurobiology. The Department has a rich history of excellence in structural biology and molecular biophysics.  
Physicians and Surgeons, College of  
All applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience. In addition, applicants must have a very strong record of research productivity and demonstrated ability to develop a rigorous research program.

The applicant's research statement, of not more than four pages, should provide a summary of scientific accomplishments and a description of scientific vision and future research plans.
