Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department.  Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding.  Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit.  All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time tenure-track faculty position for the prelicensure programs including primarily BSN and also Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice (MENP) RN programs. While all specialties may apply, we are prioritizing those with critical care and/or pediatric experience. This is a 10-month position at the rank of Assistant professor. The start date will be September 1, 2024.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Vincentian higher education.
  • Providing didactic and clinical instruction of pre-licensure nursing students.
  • Engaging in course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of resources for instruction, utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology, and evaluation of student performance in meeting the objectives for the course and program.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the purpose, philosophy, and objectives of the nursing education program.
  • Contributing to the development and evaluation of student policies.
  • Serving as lead faculty for main courses and mentor adjunct faculty
  • Maintain active research or other scholarly activity for which qualified
  • Maintain educational and clinical expertise in areas of teaching
  • Advising prelicensure students
  • Serving on college of science and health and providing leadership for school of nursing committees.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field required.
    • A Master’s degree in a nursing field is required if the doctorate is not in nursing. 
    • Equivalent of three or more years of clinical experience as an RN required. 
    • Experience in teaching prelicensure students preferred.
    • Proven scholarship and publication preferred.
