Job Summary

The School of Teaching and Learning invites applications for one tenure-track position beginning August 16, 2024. We are seeking qualified candidates in the field of Science Education.

Responsibilities include scholarly research/publishing, effective undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. The individual in this position is thus expected to teach 3 courses each semester in the School of Teaching and Learning.

The position is a nine-month, tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The locus of annual evaluation, tenure, and promotion in rank will be in the School of Teaching and Learning. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

Required Qualifications

1) Terminal degree or ABD in Science Education or a relevant field with a completion date prior to August 16, 2024.
2) Minimum of two years teaching experience in PreK-12th grade.
3) Demonstrated potential for scholarly research and publication in science education.
4) Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate science courses in early childhood, elementary, and middle-level programs.
5) Demonstrated expertise in earth/space science education, and/or environmental science education.
6) State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
