Job Description Summary:
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
We also provide some cross-coverage for emergent CT chest. Night call is covered by our own emergency radiologists, and morning weekend call duty is once every 6-8 weeks.

Conditions of Employment

Must be eligible for appointment to the University of Kansas School of Medicine at the rank of assistant professor or higher at time of hire.

Required Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Must be ABR certified or board eligible.
  • Must have successfully completed a fellowship in Body Imaging/Abdominal Imaging.  

Work Experience:

  • Must have expertise in routine and emergent CT/US/MR and experience in advanced body imaging such as CTE/MRE, MR prostate and anorectal MR, CT colonography, and MR defecography.  
  • Advanced body imaging experience such as CTE/MRE, MR prostate and anorectal MR, CT colonography and MR defecography.

Job Duties Outlined

  • Regular participation in Resident and Medical Student Instruction
  • Night call occasional for cross-coverage for emergent CT chest
  • Other call as assigned, in line with other faculty assignment within the department
