The Department of Psychology, housed in the Brailsford College of Arts and Sciences at Prairie View A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position for Assistant/Associate Professor to begin as early as Spring 2022. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in psychology, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and an active research agenda. The successful candidate will teach a full range of psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and engage in departmental and university service activities. The department supports innovative directions in theory, research, teaching, and practice.
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate level courses and, at times, graduate courses.
Engage in, produce, and publish research, emphasizing manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals and the presentation of results at professional conferences.
Participate in service commitments within the department, college, university, and the profession.
Required Education and Experience:
Doctorate of philosopy in psychology from an accredited university.
ABDs will be considered for an Assistant position (but must have the Ph.D. prior to hire).
University teaching experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with online teaching and online course development are highly desirable.
Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
A degree in Cognitive, Developmental, or Physio (Neuro) psychology.
