Job Description Summary
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s program in the Department of Psychology at Lewis University seeks a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor to support the Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Serve as a Core Faculty Member of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program
-Teach a total of eight graduate classes per year
-Graduate student advising
-Assist with CACREP efforts
-Assist in the development and implementation of continuous program evaluation and improvement
-Cooperate with the Program Director, CACREP Liaison, and the Director of Training and Assessment in the development of the curriculum, preparation and update of course syllabi, course outlines, and selection of textbooks and additional curricular materials
-Participate in Department, College and University meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in counselor education and supervision (ABD considered) and 1-3 years of teaching in a college setting.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will: have a clear counselor educator identity, have clinical and supervisory experience in working with students and clients of diverse backgrounds, evidence of scholarship in the counseling education field, be licensed or license eligible in the State of Illinois, demonstrate cultural competent teaching and counseling practices, and present evidence of scholarly potential.
