Job Duties

This Assistant Professor position will assist and develop upcoming research programs in the Neuropsychiatry division of the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. 

  • Develop an active research program and grow this through acquisition of extramural funding 
  • Represent the university of national and international conferences 
  • Develop and present materials for education in cutting edge research topics within the field of neuropsychiatry 
  • Develop research and educational collaborations with researchers within and outside of the college 
  • Publish research findings in high impact scientific journals 
  • Supervise and coordinate the research activities of trainees and other research staff 
  • Attend  faculty and departmental meetings and voicing concerns or providing suggestions for improvement. 
  • Training undergraduate and graduate students. 
  • Providing demonstrations and supervising experiments and investigations. 
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring new research staff and other junior staff. 
  • Providing Professors and Department Heads with feedback on research program progress. 
  • Writing proposals to secure funding for research. 
  • Generate reviews and meta-analyses of the literature to drive and support compelling and innovative research studies. 
  • Develop computational tools to assist with data analysis. 
  • Assist research coordinators with procurement of necessary equipment for studies. 
  • Assist research coordinators with development and testing of research study standard operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Psychology (Experimental or Cognitive)
