Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Michigan is seeking a board eligible/certified physician in Pediatrics/Pediatric Cardiology to join the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center.  Aligned with the Medical School promotions criteria on the tenure track, the candidate is expected build a research program characterized by a thematically coherent body of work, independent external funding, a national reputation, and a robust publication record. Also aligned with tenure track promotions criteria, the faculty member is expected to demonstrate organization citizenship and engage in national service roles (e.g., reviewer, committees, and boards). Overall, the faculty member is expected to elevate the research training and national reputation the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center.

The University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center is a high-volume program that includes over 50 cardiologists, 5 congenital heart surgeons, 18 categorical fellows, and an active Advanced Practitioner Team. Our culture is one of collaboration, in which clinical excellence, teamwork, and academic productivity are prioritized. Teaching ability is also highly valued at our center. Preference will be given to a candidate who has already demonstrated research experience and productivity.

About the Congenital Heart Center:

As an international referral center for children with complex congenital heart disease, the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital Congenital Heart Center is one of the largest and most experienced pediatric heart programs in the United States.  From diagnosis and medical management of common cardiac disorders to groundbreaking therapies for complex congenital heart conditions, our team is committed to providing the most advanced evidence-based care for infants, children and adolescents with all forms of congenital and acquired heart disease, as well as for adults with congenital heart disease.

Required Qualifications*

The candidate must have an MD, DO, MBBS degree or equivalent. They should have completed training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology with a specific focus on cardiac genetics and inherited myopathies.
