Position Description


Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
This is a non-tenure track position with responsibility for teaching up to seven courses per year. These courses will include general engineering and mechanical engineering undergraduate and graduate courses such as Statics, Dynamics, Materials Science, Fluid Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Numerical Methods, and Techniques in Research. Specific course assignments will depend on expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master of Science (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience teaching at an accredited university or college.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctor of Philosophy (or equivalent terminal degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Ability to teach general engineering courses.
  • Experience teaching student laboratories.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and commitment to promote diversity and inclusion.

Hiring Range $80,000- $85,000. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
