Creighton University seeks a dynamic, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to lead the clinical phase of the Physician Assistant education program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and management of students’ experiential learning. Management responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of the program’s clinical network, development and oversight of curricular delivery and assessment during the clinical phase, and directing the work of the program’s clinical coordinator. Didactic teaching and small group facilitation may be included, depending on qualifications. Physician assistants are preferred, but candidates with a variety of backgrounds will be considered.

•    Responsible for the development and maintenance of the clinical preceptor network for all clinical phase students
•    Responsible for the development, on-boarding and training of clinical preceptors
•    Directs the work performed by the Clinical Coordinator to manage the operational processes of the clinical phase of the program
•    Performs site visits to SCPE sites and coordinates site visits to clinical preceptors by faculty
•    Responsible for the ongoing delivery and evaluation of the clinical phase of the program
•    Chair, Clinical Education Committee
•    Works with Director of Didactic Education (DDE) and Director of Curriculum & Assessment (DCA) to develop and implement horizontal and longitudinal goals and learning objectives within the curriculum to ensure a system of progressive learning and evaluation across the continuum of the program.
•    Works with the DCA to maintain curricular mapping of the clinical phase of the PA curriculum
•    With the DCA, responsible for didactic curriculum in the clinical phase
•    Works with DCA and course directors to develop evaluation and assessment of students in the clinical phase
•    Course direction or co-direction, including the design, implementation, coordination and evaluation of individual courses and the program curriculum.
•    Classroom and small group instruction in the PA program in areas of expertise
•    Develops and participates in student assessment, evaluation, and remediation
•    Participates in the development, review, and revision of the program’s mission statement, goals, outcomes, and competencies
•    Participates in ongoing program evaluation and accreditation processes.
•    Provides advising and academic counseling to students
•    Contributes to application evaluation, interviews and selection of matriculating students.
•    Scholarly activity in areas of research interest
•    Serves on university and School of Medicine committees, as requested

 

 

 


Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field. If the successful applicant is a PA, must be NCCPA Certified and hold a Nebraska PA license (or be license-eligible)

Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years’ experience in PA or other health education with focus in clinical phase curriculum and assessment

Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
