Position Highlights The University of Arizona Philosophy Department is searching for an assistant professor tenure track who specializes in ethics and political philosophy, particularly the ethics of self-defense, just war theory, punishment and immigration to begin in the Fall of 2024. The Department of Philosophy invites applications from candidates with successful research programs who are committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching. The successful applicant will also be a core faculty member in the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom, who will contribute to the research mission of the Center. Applicants should have the capacity for communicating effectively with diverse constituencies on campus and outside of the university. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Undergraduate teaching, three courses a year (as long as a core faculty in the Center)
  • Maintenance of an active program of research
  • Service to the department, college, Center, and University
  • Workload: 30% teaching, 50% Research, 20% Service

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
