JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

We are seeking Assistant Professor position is available in the molecular and cellular cancer biology laboratory of Dr. Wei Li in the Department of Pediatrics at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine located at Hershey, Pennsylvania.

We are interested in studying intercellular interactions during tissue homeostasis and determining how de-regulated interactions among cells promote cell transformation and tumor progression. The goal of our research is to find molecular targets and biomarkers for cancer therapy. We integrate molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches in combination with mouse tumorigenesis models. Currently, one of our major focuses is studying the impact of immune cells on  tumor microenvironment in glioma malignant transformation. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher in the molecular basis of cancer. The candidate should have strong and extensive research experience in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology. A background in immunology, mouse models of cancer, especially brain tumors, or neural development, is preferred. Successful applicants should have a PhD or MD degree with postdoctoral training and are expected to have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, and critical thinking abilities.
