Assistant Professor, Pediatric Cancer Research

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute is recruiting 3 full-time Assistant Professors, without tenure due to funding (WOT) on the Faculty Scientist track, Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

These positions will support the department’s commitment to basic, translational, or clinical cancer research or supportive care or outcomes research that is relevant to children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Appropriate laboratory (wet or dry) space and resources for the candidates will be provided by the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where the investigators will join the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Assistant Professors  are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated Start Date: Summer/Fall 2023


Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field or MD (or foreign equivalent). An MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable.

The Research plan should provide a high-level overview of the projects/aims that the applicant will initially pursue as an independent investigator.
