Position Description:

The Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a board eligible/board certified palliative care physician to join our growing and dynamic team.

  • This academic appointment encompasses a combination of teaching, patient care, and research/scholarly activity, as well as administrative activity.
  • Clinical opportunities include inpatient palliative care consults or hospice attending service on one of three inpatient teams, as well as effort in our ambulatory palliative clinic at Froedtert Hospital, with potential clinical opportunities at the Zablocki VA Medical Center.

The Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine is dedicated to improving care for our patients and their caregivers and creating robust educational opportunities for students, residents, and fellows to prepare them for a career taking care of older adults and those near the end of life. We use a team-based approach in clinics, consult services, and community care. Our physicians work closely, and collaboratively, with nurses, advance practice providers (APPs), physician fellows, a chaplain and psychologist, residents, and students, to provide patients and families with the best possible holistic care. Currently, the division includes 23 clinical faculty members and 11 advanced practice providers. Clinical faculty are all fellowship trained and board-certified in Geriatrics and/or Palliative Medicine.

Position Requirements:

  • Candidate should be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Candidate must have completed a Residency in Internal Medicine and an Infectious Disease Fellowship, must be board eligible/certified in infectious disease.
  • Must be eligible to obtain an unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
