Deadline: ; Open until filled

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware invites applications for up to three temporary, full time, non-tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor.

Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mathematics or in a closely related discipline with experience teaching college-level courses such as college algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus at a college or university in the United States.  Well-qualified candidates with an M.S. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline will be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor.  Ability to teach high-enrollment (75-90 students), coordinated courses is essential, and demonstrated ability to teach general education mathematics (quantitative reasoning/literacy) and intermediate courses such as linear algebra or differential equations will be viewed favorably. MSLL integrates active learning and other evidence-based teaching strategies, principles of continuous improvement, learning technologies, and a collaborative instructional team.

The successful candidate will teach 12 credits per semester during the Fall and Spring semesters, work closely with other instructors in coordinated courses, and strive for excellence in teaching. The position comes with a good salary and benefits. The one-year appointment will begin on August 16, 2024, and is renewable at most twice subject to department needs and satisfactory performance.

To apply:  Submit the following items through the MathJobs.org website: a letter of interest, a current CV, graduate transcripts (unofficial is fine), and a statement of teaching philosophy (maximum of three pages) addressing the job qualifications described above.  Also, arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted through MathJobs.org.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
