The Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, https://engineering.kennesaw.edu/, at Kennesaw State University is the second-largest engineering college in Georgia, serving over 5,000 students and offering 10 undergraduate engineering and engineering technology degrees and 7 graduate engineering degrees. Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Materials Engineering faculty position in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology that begins August 2024. This is a nine-month contracted position. The home department will be determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with background and experience.


Responsibilities
 
  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the area of materials engineering or other engineering topics in their home department
  • Service to Department/College/University/professional community is expected
  • Scholarship/Research expectations include pursuing and receiving external grants, creating journal articles and peer-reviewed papers, advising undergraduate and/or graduate student research, etc.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
 


Required Qualifications
 
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering, or a related discipline, is required.  The required degree must be earned by the start date.

    Background Check
