The USC Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine invites applicants for Assistant Professor of Research Pathology with expertise in DNA nanostructure technology and its application to clinical and anatomic pathology. The department seeks candidates with demonstrated abilities in the use of interacting self-assembling nanostructures that may be used for spatial reconstruction via solution of proximity networks. The ideal candidate will be an M.D. or M.D.-Ph.D., must hold a California medical license and have completed postgraduate training in Pathology or a related clinical discipline.

Applicants should have demonstrated ability to introduce and validate one or more nanostructure-based diagnostic method applicable to any clinical application. Candidates will need to interact with clinicians in a tertiary/quaternary medical center environment. There are opportunities (not required) for participating in education of medical students, residents, and fellows.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is staffed by 102 faculty who serve the educational, clinical, and research mission of the Keck School of Medicine. Keck Medical Center and the Norris Cancer Hospital are major facilities within the USC academic health system. The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine provides all diagnostic services that support inpatient and ambulatory care at the hospitals and satellite labs operated by Keck Medicine. Major clinical programs include those of the NCI-designated Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center (hematologic malignancies, urologic, breast, and colon cancer), transplant programs that include liver, heart and lung, and growing programs in neuro-oncology, womens health, cardiology, immunology, and infectious diseases.

The annual base salary range for this position is $76,113.54-$95,140.48.
