About UC Blue Ash College

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UC Blue Ash College) invites applications for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Psychology position in our Behavioral Science Department starting August 15, 2022. UC Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the largest and most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 4500 students.


Job Overview

An Assistant Professor of Psychology at UC Blue Ash College is expected to (1) teach, (2) participate in governance and committee work at the Department, College, and University levels, and (3) engage in scholarly and other professional and creative activities within psychology or the scholarship of teaching and learning literatures. This position will support the University of Cincinnati's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities. The areas of teaching for this respective position may include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Psychology, Interpersonal Relations, Theories of Personality, Abnormal Psychology, and Research Methods and Statistics. The teaching load for UC Blue Ash College faculty is four course sections per primary academic semester. The Position is expected to begin August 15, 2022.


Essential Functions
  • Prepare and teach undergraduate-level courses as assigned; this includes creating and delivering course content, evaluating student coursework, maintaining routine communication with students, and providing assistance and mentoring outside the classroom.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
  • Participate in shared governance by serving on department, college, and/or university committees and attending a variety of meetings.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of service responsibilities; for example, participate in department work, such as representing the department on college level committees, joining ad hoc college committees, and sub-committee duties as needed.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Engage in limited levels of discipline-specific and/or scholarship of teaching and learning research with the goal of presenting at conferences and publishing in appropriate journals.
  • Other related duties as assigned. For example, providing classroom assessment data when requested for program assessment, and/or representing the department at Open House functions.

Required Education

The Department seeks an individual with Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) degree in Psychology prior to the effective date of the appointment. 


Required Experience

All applicants must have at least two semesters of full-time college-level teaching freshman- or sophomore-level courses in psychology as the instructor-of-record prior to the effective date of appointment.
