Position Summary
The Department of Psychology at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for a full time, 10-month, Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will teach General Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and other courses in the biological bases of psychology. The ability to teach courses in Sensation and Perception and/or Drugs and the Nervous System, as well as supervise undergraduate research is desirable, as is experience supervising undergraduate research and experience using teaching technologies. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester; establishing and maintaining an active, productive research program on a small liberal arts campus; engaging undergraduate students in research; contributing to the assessment of the psychology major and student learning outcomes; and engaging in campus initiatives to increase retention and enrollment, as well as being active in service to the department and engaging in service to the campus as a whole.

Basic Qualifications
Requirements include a doctoral degree in psychology or a closely related field, such as behavioral neuroscience (ABD candidates will be considered), teaching experience at the undergraduate college level, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in student-centered learning and collaboration. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest and/or experience in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
