Job Summary
 

The Psychology program at GSW provides students with a well-rounded education in psychology, encompassing both theoretical understanding and practical application. Students have the opportunity to engage in coursework covering diverse areas of psychology, including cognitive, developmental, social, and abnormal psychology. Additionally, the program encourages hands-on experiences through research projects, internships, and experiential learning opportunities.  


Responsibilities
 
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive courses in the Psychology program, including Introductory Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Growth and Development, and other undergraduate classes as needed.
  • Actively engage in research and scholarly activities to contribute to the academic excellence of the department.
  • Provide dedicated advising and mentorship to students as assigned, fostering their academic and professional growth.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to service through active participation in departmental, University, and professional activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Administration.

Required Qualifications
 
  • Ph.D. in Psychology at the time of appointment (open specialty).

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Experience teaching courses in Introductory Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Human Growth and Development.
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines, especially in areas where psychology intersects with other fields like nursing, business, criminal justice, sociology, or technology.
  • Experience coordinating students in experiential learning opportunities, internships, and High Impact Practices (HIPs).

Proposed Salary
 

$50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
