California State University San Marcos expects to hire a tenure-track assistant professor for Fall 2024 with quantitative expertise and interest in teaching statistics at undergraduate and graduate levels. The area of research focus is open.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field (ABD applicants will be accepted; Ph.D. must be completed before employment start date).
  • Only candidates with active research programs that can involve students will be considered. 
  • Applicants must have demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence at the university level.
  • Must be able to supervise Master’s theses.
  • Applicants must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level statistics courses as part of their teaching load.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of research productivity, and experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • The area of research focus is open, but the ability to teach needed courses within the existing department curriculum, particularly industrial/organizational psychology, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research and/or service.

  • Contact information for three professional references who will provide letters of recommendation.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,916 - $7,333 per month 

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,405 - $11,994 per month
