Primary Duties and Responsibilities: | The Department of Psychological Science and Neuroscience in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University in Nashville (TN) is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1st, 2024. Job responsibilities include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as other departmental, college, and university professional responsibilities, including academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service. Candidates must be committed to superior teaching, and teaching responsibilities will include Introductory Psychology courses, as well as upper-level elective and/or laboratory courses depending on the candidate's interests and training background. In addition to teaching courses, candidates are expected to engage in scholarly activity and the supervision of independent undergraduate research in an empirically-oriented department with approximately 250 Psychology majors and additional minors. At Belmont, a variety of scholarly productivity is valued, including the scholarship of teaching, discovery, integration, and application. Paid summer research and teaching opportunities are available to further scholarship and/or training activities. Applicants must have either earned a Ph.D. in any area of Psychology and are expected to complete all Ph.D. requirements by August 2024; teaching experience and/or postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.
