Position Summary
The Assistant Professor of Practice will oversee various courses within their designated specialty area(s). This individual will provide didactic and practical instruction under the direction of the program coordinator for the assigned specialty area(s). A teaching load of 5 courses is expected at any given time throughout the calendar year. The majority of courses will be delivered in an asynchronous online method, however, some in-person instruction may be required. Courses do not follow traditional semester scheduling with dates being dictated by cohort start dates as agreed upon by CHS and industry partners.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant area and two to five years of appropriate experience within the field of medical assisting OR minimum of ten (10) years of appropriate experience as Medical Assistant.
Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates with:
-No less than five (5) years professional experience as a Medical Assistant
-Experience teaching in a higher education setting
-Effective oral and written communication skills
-Active BLS CPR certification
