Description

The Program in Creative Writing in the Department of English at the University of Chicago invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor of Practice in the Arts in prose fiction. The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The selected candidate will teach four courses per year in the Program in Creative Writing and will pursue their own writing. The candidate will also be expected to take on service responsibilities within the program.

 

The selected candidate will be appointed for an initial term of four years, with reappointment possible following review.


Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • a record of publication and/or recognition for manuscripts in progress;
  • an MFA in Creative Writing;
  • experience teaching prose fiction at the University level.
