The Schmid College of Science and Technology (SCST) at Chapman University seeks applicants to fill two full time tenure track positions as Assistant Professor of Theoretical Physics, effective Fall 2015.

The SCST offers a B.S. degree in Physics and Computational Science and MS/PhD degrees in Computational and Data Sciences. The SCST also offers a wide variety of degrees in science disciplines and is deeply committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching, including providing students with personalized educational experiences involving mentoring and collaborative research. Qualifications
Requirements include a PhD in Physics and evidence of strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching in a liberal arts setting. Candidates with higher computational skills and the ability to contribute to the graduate programs are encouraged to apply.
For one position the successful candidate will have experience and interests in Foundations of Quantum Theory.
For the other position, the successful candidate will have experience and interests in Cosmology.
Responsibilities
Duties include teaching Physics and mentoring student research in Physics and Computational & Data Sciences. The teaching load is four courses per year.
Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their research/scholarly activity, teaching and service.
