Position Description:
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Louisville has a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor faculty opening for Fall 2024.
We seek a candidate with research expertise in quantum information science, working at the intersection of quantum optics, atomic physics, and condensed matter physics with research interests in developing quantum computing architectures based on solid-state or ion-trap platforms. The successful candidate is expected to create new curricula in quantum computing besides teaching standard physics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and must maintain an active externally funded research program. The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in Physics, but preference will be given to candidates with relevant postdoctoral experience.
