The School of Nursing at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full time Ranked Faculty position. This is a grant funded position.
The Ranked Faculty member is accountable for student learning the School of Nursing (SoN) by fulfilling responsibilities that contribute to the achievement of student learning and program outcomes. Ranked faculty fulfill legal requirements specified by the Minnesota Board of Nursing: conduct oneself in accord with accreditation standards required by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and Higher Learning Commission. Faculty responsibilities are organized using the ACEN accreditation standards for nursing programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, teach, evaluate, and revise course content to reflect evidence-based practice and most current knowledge in the nursing field.
  • Carry out excellence in teaching and advising with diverse student populations.
  • Develop and demonstrate learner-centered objectives and strategies.
  • Adhere to defined grading procedures and standards in accordance with the grading policies of the University.
  • Establishes positive relationships with students to promote their success.
  • Provides prompt, quality feedback and advising to students.
  • Refers students to support services as appropriate.
  • Attends events to orient, support, celebrate, and/or reward student activities.
  • Establishes office hours to accommodate student needs in alignment with University policies.
  • Maintains currency in best practice in teaching methodologies used.
  • Maintains currently in content areas covered within assigned courses.
  • Pursue growth in knowledge related to nursing standards and practices.
  • Engages in professional practice activities to support professional growth in alignment with areas of teaching content, teaching methodologies, and service activities.
  • Active participation on the I-SAIL committee and one I-SAIL subcommittee.
  • Supports faculty development related to IPE and Simulation Standards of Best Practice across the HSSHS and SoN.
  • Participate in university-wide activities such as commencement ceremonies, convocations, faculty meetings and hearings, and faculty development events.
  • Demonstrate willingness to serve on university-wide committees, ad hoc committees, and task forces.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
OR
Baccalaureate degree in nursing AND master’s degree in related field with evidence of tested experience
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in nursing preferred
OR
Doctoral degree in related field AND master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
