Position Summary
The School of Music at UNC Greensboro welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Musicology position beginning August 1, 2024. We seek a versatile teacher/scholar committed with experience of teaching a diverse student body and implementing the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in their pedagogy.
Responsibilities:
Teach courses including a globally engaged undergraduate core for music majors; upper-level courses, honors courses, and graduate seminars in areas of expertise; and courses in musicological research and writing. Cultivate an active program of research and publication. Serve on graduate thesis and dissertation committees. Engage actively in the reimagining of the curriculum. Participate in the intellectual life of the School of Music and the University. Provide service to the School, University, and professional organizations.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in musicology, ethnomusicology, or a related field by August 1, 2024, demonstrated success in teaching at the university level, ongoing research activity with strong record of (or potential for) publication, and strong leadership and communication skills.
