| Essential Job Duties | The Assistant Professor of Large Animal Clinical Skills and Career Success will join a dedicated group of faculty and staff currently teaching large animal clinical skills, medicine and surgery. A combination of models, simulations and farm animals at the Teaching Animal Unit and Reedy Creek Farm are used to facilitate assessments that can be used to develop skills portfolios and investigate best practices in feedback and remediation of clinical skills. Teaching: This faculty member will contribute to clinical skills, large animal and career readiness teaching in existing core, elective and selective courses. The faculty member will also have the option to participate in teaching and/or proposing new selective or elective courses. Interested individuals may contribute to ongoing development of house officer and graduate student competency-based training programs and trainee assessments. Research: This faculty member will establish an impactful and nationally recognized research program dedicated to advancing Large Animal Clinical Skills educational research. As veterinary curricula globally evolve to meet changing technological, societal, and agricultural needs, this position will drive evidence-based advancements in how veterinary students acquire, refine, and maintain large animal technical and clinical competencies. The faculty member will be expected to investigate current high-priority areas and address critical, unmapped gaps in knowledge within veterinary medical education.
