Job Description:
The Department of Neuroscience in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas seeks three (3) full-time Assistant Professors of Instruction to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level in our large and growing Neuroscience programs. A strong need is for an individual with experience working in industry/corporate/non-academic settings, to teach core coursework in our Industrial NSC track (https://catalog.utdallas.edu/2020/undergraduate/programs/bbs/neuroscience ). We are also seeking instructors with expertise in cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience areas to teach in our Medical and our Research tracks.
The appointment commences for the fall 2024 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy or a related field and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in teaching. Those with ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

The University of Texas at Dallas is a Tier One Institution and the fastest growing university in Texas. It houses a dynamic and collaborative Neuroscience research community. Faculty in Neuroscience are active participants in several research centers including the Center for Advanced Pain Studies, Texas Biomedical Device Center, Center for BrainHealth, Center for Vital Longevity, and Callier Center for Communication Disorders. Neuroscience faculty also have vibrant collaborations with the UT Dallas Program in Bioengineering and the UT Southwestern Medical Center.
The Neuroscience Department is housed in a new research building that opened in 2015. The building contains state-of-the-art laboratory space and top-notch core facilities. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is an international hub with a strong economy, vibrant cultural atmosphere, world-class sports and entertainment, and nationally ranked public schools.
