Department Summary for the School of Human Services
The School of Human Services at UNT Dallas offers two undergraduate degree programs. The Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management, and Leadership (HSML) and a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS) prepare students for work in the social service sector. We offer both professional and academic certificates.
Position Summary

This position is a tenure-track, 9-month term appointment which will be responsible for teaching four courses per semester and helping build and develop the Human Services Management and Leadership program. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research and participate in service activities such as curriculum development, student recruiting, program assessment, program accreditation, student advisement, and committee leadership. The School of Human Services is particularly interested in candidates with significant teaching or practice experience in alternative dispute resolution/mediation, arbitration, negotiation, cross-cultural conflict resolution, marriage and family mediation or restorative justice.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching four undergraduate courses per semester.
Engaging students in learning inside and outside the classroom including service learning or experiential learning, practicum, and active research.
Coordinating opportunities for students with community partners.
Advising HSML majors on their degree plans.
Participating in activities such as student recruitment, program assessment, program development.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Human Services, Social Work, Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or closely related field from a university accredited by SACS or equivalent accrediting body. 
Two years of experience as a human services professional with diverse populations. 
Established research agenda or record of scholarly publications. 
Demonstrated experience teaching human services or courses in mediation.
Preferred Qualifications
A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the field of study is highly preferred.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching (i.e. academic evaluations indicating excellence in teaching)
Experience working on campus and in the community with culturally diverse students, staff, faculty, individuals, and families.
Human Service Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) with human services educational experience.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Familiar with the accreditation process of the Council for Standards on Human Services Education (CSHSE).
Experience teaching online (hybrid/blended or 100%).
Experience with Civic Learning and Teaching from service-learning, and engaged scholarship, to community-based research.
Certification in mediation or conflict resolution.
Required License / Registration / Certification
