The Department of English at Brown University seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in early modern English literature, with an emphasis on Shakespeare studies and dramatic literature preferred.  Candidates with interests in literary and cultural theory, critical race studies, transnational studies, gender and sexuality studies, aesthetics and form, and environmental studies are especially encouraged to apply.  Four-year renewable position.  Applications will be reviewed beginning November 1, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.

Candidates should demonstrate the potential for excellence in scholarship and teaching and speak to their ideas for and experiences of fostering diverse and inclusive learning environments.  Ph.D. to be completed by June 2020.
