The Operations and Management Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin, USA, invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Construction Management position. The anticipated start date is August 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in construction management or related field with five (5) years' experience in the construction industry - OR - terminal degree (e.g. PhD, MFA, MArch) in related field with three (3) years' experience in the construction industry by employment start date.  
  • Interest in advancing student learning in Construction management.
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in writing and speaking English.

Preferred

  • Record of successful teaching and/or training at the post-secondary, college and/or professional level and across in-person and online modalities.
  • Commitment to cultivating a work environment and student experience that embraces inclusion.

The university emphasizes teaching excellence; candidates brought to campus will be required to teach a component of a class as part of the interview process and discuss how instruction partners/is supported by an online learning management system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online, undergraduate courses according to program instructional plans. The primary instructional need is for teaching coursework in construction management. In addition to teaching, all UW-Stout faculty are expected to engage in the assessment of student learning, research, and service; and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment dedicated to inclusive excellence. Additionally, faculty provide student academic advisement and conduct assessments of student learning. This includes contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.

A terminal degree (M.F.A., Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.) is required for promotion to full professor, unless by special exception process.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION 

The Operations and Management (O&M) Department is housed in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Management. O&M primarily serves undergraduate majors in Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Technology, Construction, and Packaging, as well as graduate majors in Training and Human Resources Development, Engineering, Risk Control, and Operations and Supply Management. The department currently has 40 faculty/staff and offers more than 50 courses and 100 different sections each semester.
