Job Description

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at University of Texas Permian Basin. The department offers both B.S./M.S. degrees in Computer Science, and a B.S. in Information Systems.

The anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2020.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent faculty member will teach courses and develop curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels; teaching may be face-to-face, online, or via alternative delivery systems (e.g., ITV). Active participation in scholarly and service activities is also a central expectation of the position.

Required Qualifications

(1) Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline must be conferred not later than the date of appointment (8/31/2020)
(2) Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in a variety of undergraduate and graduate computer science courses
(3) Demonstrated potential to conduct and publish scholarly research

  • All UTPB employees must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching/research in: Cyber Security or Network Administration and Security, Computer Gaming or Augmented and Virtual Reality, or Data Analytics.
