Job Description:

The Curry College School of Business & Computer Science invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Computer Science position beginning Fall 2024. The School of Business & Computer Science is committed to leveraging synergies between business areas and cutting-edge technology to develop distinctive new programs. The School of Business & Computer Science has a dynamic and highly engaged team of faculty and staff, all of whom are dedicated to the professional success of our students.
Essential duties include teaching a variety of undergraduate and master's courses in computer science and/or cybersecurity, advising students, participating in CS curriculum development including ABET accreditation, as well as engaging in ongoing scholarship, professional activity, and service. The candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to and understand students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will:

  • have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD will be considered with a completion date before August 31, 2024. While strong candidates of all specialties will be considered, primary consideration will be given to those with specialties in cyber security (hardware security, offensive security, enterprise/cloud security, security management), machine learning/artificial intelligence, computer vision or HCL;
  • be committed to excellence in teaching and research, with a passion for engaging with students, colleagues, and the business community;
  • demonstrate a commitment to developing and delivering cutting-edge, experiential curricula which prepare students for careers in computer science, cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, and other computer science related fields;
  • demonstrate the ability to engage in meaningful, high-quality research that shows synergies with the courses they teach as well as with the School of Business & Computer Science's mission; and
  • be committed to experiential education and be able to apply experiential learning techniques in all courses taught, including developing collaborative relationships with external communities for experiential learning focused class projects, research projects, and other curricular activities.
