JOB DESCRIPTION

The Desai Sethi Urology Institute (DSUI) at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine is experiencing a period of expansion and is seeking exceptional candidates to join the faculty.   The University of Miami is considered among the top tier institutions of higher education in the U.S. for its academic excellence, superior medical care, and cutting-edge research.

DSUI is recruiting an Assistant Professor level candidates to serve in the new Doral location.

The Assistant Professor will be appointed as a member of the full-time faculty of the Department of Urology reporting directly to the Chairman with the following specific responsibilities:

Function as an attending physician at University of Miami Hospital (UMH), Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), and Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) including responsibility for coverage of inpatient and outpatient cases as well as operating room supervision of residents and outpatient clinics in the Ambulatory Care Centers.

Perform clinical activities through the University of Miami Medical Group (UMMG) clinical practice plan as well as supervise and teach residents and fellows both in inpatient and outpatient settings.  This includes surgical activities at UMH, JMH, and VA as well as outpatient activities at the department’s clinic, at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics/Sylvester Cancer Center Clinic (UMHC), VAMC, (UMH) and other affiliated hospitals and clinics.

Will also provide Urology in-patient consultations and emergency on-call.

Requirements:

M.D. from accredited medical school, completion of approved urology residency training program, licensed or eligible for Florida license to practice medicine, Board-certified/Board-eligible in urology.
