The University of Miami Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a pediatric intensivist to join the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, be board certified in pediatrics, be board certified/eligible in pediatric critical care medicine and hold a Florida medical license (or be eligible). This is a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels (Clinical Pediatrics) within the University of Miami School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics-Holtz Children’s Hospital. The faculty member will join our 9 member team and serve as an attending physician responsible for the care of critically ill and/or injured pediatric patients receiving care in the current 24-bed PICU/CICU or other locations within the health system. Service time will be commensurate with Division needs with a benchmark of 14- 16 weeks, including provision of procedural sedation for diagnostic imaging of pediatric patients.

In addition to clinical service, this position entails a commitment to teaching pediatric critical care fellows, residents, nurses, and other unit-based staff. Faculty are strongly encouraged to pursue basic science or clinical research interests, which will require efforts to obtain outside grant funding wherever possible. In addition to participating in various training and educational activities, the faculty member will have lead roles in quality improvement and care process initiatives. In addition, he/she will contribute to the creation and maintenance of clinical practice plans and protocols while participating in simulation-based team performance and skills enhancement activities.
