Primary Duties and Responsibilities: | The Department of Psychological Science and Neuroscience in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1st, 2024. Job responsibilities include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as other departmental, college, and university professional responsibilities, including academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service. Some flexibility in teaching load may be available if maintaining clinical engagements, on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must be committed to superior teaching, and teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Psychological Science, elective courses including Psychopathology and Clinical/Counseling Psychology, laboratory-based courses in Psychological Testing and Personality Psychology, and other elective and/or lab courses depending on the candidate's interests and training background. In addition to teaching courses, candidates are expected to engage in scholarly activity and the supervision of independent undergraduate research in an empirically-oriented department with approximately 350 undergraduates. As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program. Required Experience | Teaching experience, clinical practice, and/or postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred. |
