Position Summary
The School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Clarinet. We seek an artist/teacher with demonstrated success or commitment to working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate is a skilled and successful teacher of undergraduate and graduate students and will fulfill duties and responsibilities commensurate with an academic position at a leading institution. Candidates will teach studio clarinet lessons in a dual-teacher, single-studio model. Additional areas of teaching and service may be determined depending upon School needs, candidates’ interests, qualifications, and expertise. The successful candidate will join faculty and staff at a minority-serving institution committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Earned Doctorate Degree by time of employment or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in teaching at the university level, including a reflective and evolving pedagogy
  • Evidence of artistic excellence in performance
  • Established record and/or promising trajectory of research/creative activity
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional service
  • Demonstrated success or commitment to working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success teaching graduate students
