Assistant Professor of Biology, beginning Fall 2024 (Tenure Stream)

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking an Assistant Professor of Biology (Tenure Stream) in the Division of Biological & Health Sciences, for Fall 2024.

Requirements: P.h.D. in Biology, Ecology, Entomology, or a related field with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required. Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is required; relevant work experience and three to five years of university-level teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester in Biology, at the undergraduate level, while maintaining professional development and performing university service. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program suitable for undergraduate student participation. To support the Biology and Environmental Science Programs, experience in field biology, vertebrate ecology, entomology, microbiology and/or phycology preferred. Course assignments will include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
