The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Applied Statistics faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with an expected start date of August 16, 2024. Detailed Position Information
The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Applied Statistics faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with an expected start date of August 16, 2024. Requests for a January 2025 start date may be considered. Candidates must hold a Doctorate in Statistics or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to conduct and lead independent research in Statistics and Data Science. The College and the Department support foundational research as well as transdisciplinary research.

Responsibilities include conducting and publishing academic research in high quality journals, generating external research funding, teaching courses in the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs and engaging in service at a level commensurate with the level of faculty appointment.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Doctorate in Statistics or a closely related field.


Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with expertise and interests in emerging areas of statistics and data science, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, computational and Bayesian methods, are encouraged to apply.
