Position Summary
The Department of Urban Public Health and Nutrition of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, benefits eligible non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor who will also serve as the Graduate Director of the Master’s Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics Practice.
This position will be a 9 month faculty appointment with a 12 month secondary appointment as Graduate Director. This faculty position is contingent on the incumbent serving in the Graduate Director role.
Essential Duties
  • The successful candidate will be expected to assume teaching responsibilities within the undergraduate and Master’s programs in Nutrition.
  • Additional responsibilities include student advisement and recruitment; participation in departmental, school, and university committees and other university service; participation in professional service; scholarship; and other contributions to program initiatives.
Secondary Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications include a completed Master’s Degree, Registered Dietitian, Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist.
  • The candidate is expected to have a demonstrated record of professional and practice experience in nutrition/dietetics/food service management. Membership in relevant professional organizations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is also expected.
  • Candidate should have a demonstrated record of teaching experience in higher education and familiarity with varied instructional delivery methods including online and hybrid formats.
  • Ability to work with a diverse staff, faculty, and student population is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with curriculum development and outcomes assessment in ACEND-accredited programs, and nutrition-related scholarship.
  • Established relationships with hospital-based clinical nutrition programs, institutional food service operations, and community/public health nutrition organizations in the Philadelphia area is a plus.
