Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process, will maintain production of scholarly activity, and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate

Responsibilities:

60% Teaching: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect the current levels of knowledge in the discipline; Exhibit willingness to work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify professional development activities which will lead to effective student learning outcomes. Primary responsibility in the Department of Nursing will be effective teaching in the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical areas for undergraduate students and graduate students; Design and/or implement course(s)/clinical(s) consistent with the programs curriculum; Create a positive, effective, learning environment for students in all areas; Collect and use evaluation data to improve teaching and learning; Function as an effective, cohesive team member; Be present on campus and available for student access and inquiry.

30% Scholarship Demonstrate a record of career long evidence of significant scholarly contributions to the profession; Demonstrate through teaching, research and service a substantial command of their field of expertise; Record of producing scholarly outcomes.

10% Service: Exhibit a mature view of your discipline; Maintain an appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry; Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising, orientation; Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorships, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty. Participate in department, school, college, and university committees, teams, or task forces; Assume leadership role in at least one department committee, team, or task force; Provide accurate advising information and serve as an advocate for nursing students; Participate in on-going and end-of-semester evaluation of the BSN and MSN programs and annual data collection and analysis of student learning outcomes; Function as an effective team member at the department, school, college, and university levels.

Education and Experience:
-Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field (PhD preferred, DNP considered) from a school approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; ABD status may be considered as long as all degree requirements, including dissertation, defense of dissertation, and comprehensive examinations, have been successfully completed by time

of appointment. Teachers of record must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards which normally include a Masters degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or suitable approved justification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Demonstrated ability in the discipline and show clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Demonstrated continuing scholarly contribution beyond that required for completion of the terminal degree. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Eligibility for current RN licensure in Texas;
