Position Summary:


Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks an Assistant Research Professor for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the Center Advancing Research and Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care (CARE-PC). The Assistant Professor will act in a project director capacity for major federally funded studies with responsibilities including leadership of study activities, interfacing with investigators at multiple institutions, monitoring study progress, writing progress and final reports, leading authorship for scholarly peer-reviewed publications, developing table shells for data analysts, reviewing initial analysis, providing guidance and supervision of further study data analysis. The candidate will also be expected to develop research protocols for Data Use Agreements and IRB review using new and existing datasets.
The candidate will be expected to maintain expertise and currency in relevant literature, as well as be able to prepare summaries and bibliographies to be shared within CARE-PC. The Assistant Professor will contribute to and co-author research papers currently at various stages of preparation as well as lead or co-author new publications from future research. The Assistant Professor incumbent will have the opportunity to develop their own research portfolio with new projects in addition to taking leadership roles in existing projects via Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator roles.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • A doctoral or equivalent degree in relevant scientific disciplines such as health services research, psychology, economics, public health, public policy, social work, sociology, or related field.
  • Candidates must have completed doctoral courses and fieldwork.
  • Candidates with degrees in medicine, nursing, public health, or other social science fields who have advanced social and behavioral research training are encouraged to apply.
