The School Psychology is an AP A-accredited and NASP-approved Ph.D. program. The Department of Psychology consists of 31 faculty members, the staff of the advising center, the staff of the Psychoeducational Clinic, and the four members of our office staff, as well as over 750 undergraduate majors and 120 graduate students pursuing their doctoral degrees. The faculty are outstanding scholars, many of whom have won awards for teaching and research and/or are fellows in the major professional societies in Psychology. Faculty have received research grants and training grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes for Health, the National Institute on Aging, the Army Research Laboratory, the Army Research Institute, the Department of Education, and numerous companies. |

| Essential Job Duties | The Department of Psychology at NC State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to advance research, teaching, and service in Lifespan Developmental Psychology beginning Fall 2027. We invite scholars who conduct applied developmental research at any stage of the lifespan, including infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and/or aging. While the research area is open, we are especially interested in candidates who bridge the gap between laboratory science and real-world impacts that improve lives in diverse environments using multimodal data. Faculty members in Lifespan Developmental Psychology conduct both basic and applied research spanning the lifespan, with an emphasis on cognitive, socioemotional, and health-related development. The purpose of this position is to complement and extend these existing strengths while contributing to our collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to understanding development across the lifespan. In this role, you will develop a productive research program that advances understanding of development across the lifespan and contributes meaningful scholarship to the discipline. You will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, helping them develop as scholars and professionals, while contributing your expertise to the continued growth of the Lifespan Developmental Psychology program and the broader discipline.
