Job Description Summary

The Department of Management and Operations seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Management & Operations within The Donald R. Tapia College of Business. A PhD in Management, Business Administration or a closely related field is required. University teaching experience at the undergraduate level and a publication record or evidence of scholarly ability is also required. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively in diverse environments.


Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Teach eight classes (4/4 load) per academic year on campus (on-ground), campus-connected (synchronously online/on-ground) and/or online (asynchronously with two “live” sessions) as necessary
  • Teach in the undergraduate, MBA, and DBA programs as directed by the Department Chair
  • Serve as academic advisor to assigned undergraduate majors
  • Engage in lectures, class activities, and/or information sessions in accordance with policies set by academic affairs
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Develop and improve curriculum and current/future management programs to include undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs, as assigned
  • Supervise student internships
  • Collaborate with Department Chair, MBA Director and DBA Director regarding accreditation activities related to management undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs (SACS and ACBSP)
  • Chair DBA student dissertations and/or serve on committees
  • Design/support program-building activities to attract and retain students in the major
  • Participate in faculty meetings and other University events
  • Engage in scholarship and professional development
  • Engage in service to the department, college, and university
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

  • Earned Ph.D. in Business Administration, Management, or closely related field (ABD considered)
  • Experience in instructional design and online and in-person content delivery
  • Candidates with experience and/or certifications in Project management, Supply Chain, or Logistics will be given special consideration

  • Provide evidence or promise of professional development and scholarly research
  • Be respectful of and attentive to the needs of all students

  • Teaching Certifications and Evidence – Teaching assignments specifically in the Education discipline require the following additional documents must be included and uploaded with your all-includes document file. (Education specific disciplines only – for other disciplines please upload a word document that states, “N/A does not apply).
    • Teaching Certificate
    • Evidence of clinical educator training
    • Evidence of 60 hours of ESOL training

Transcripts

Official transcripts are required for all adjuncts and all final full-time faculty candidates

Official transcripts for Master, Graduate, and Doctorate degrees are required to complete your application packet and are to be issued directly to Saint Leo University from the respective education institution.*

Transcripts that are “Issued to Student” or issued to another institution are not accepted. Digital and/or electronic transcripts cannot be accepted at this time.

World Education Services (WES) Evaluation – A certified evaluation and translation from World Education Services (WES) is required for foreign transcripts and/or any and all degrees obtained from international universities.  Expenses for official transcripts are the responsibility of the applicant.
