Description

The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor positions to begin with the academic year 2024-2025. Up to six positions are available.

Applicants for the position must hold a J.D. degree (or the equivalent) and should demonstrate the potential for success as scholars, teachers, and future members of the UH and the Law Center’s broader community.

The primary teaching focus for the multiple positions is to cover 1L doctrinal courses. Candidates from across all doctrinal areas of law will be considered, but we have particular interest in the traditional first-year subjects (most especially: civil procedure, criminal law and property) as well as upper level topics including: administrative law, copyright, disability & the law, energy law, environmental law, evidence, federal courts, health law, international law, labor/employment law, race and the law, and tax.  Upper level course teaching options are flexible. Willingness to teach elsewhere in the Law Center curriculum, including other 1L courses or courses covered on the bar exam, is also a positive factor.

Further information about the Law Center and its programs is available at: http://www.law.uh.edu

This search is coordinated by Professor Emily Berman, the chair of UHLC’s faculty appointments committee. Interested applicants can send questions to Prof. Berman questions to [email protected].
