Position Overview
The Department of Health, Sport, & Exercise Sciences (HSES) at the University of Kansas (KU) is searching for an Assistant Professor in the Sport Management program. The position requires an earned doctorate with a specialty in sport management or a related field. The position is a full-time, tenure track (academic year - 9 month) appointment with a start date of August 18, 2022.

The Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences offers a broad range of programs in exercise science, community health, physical education, and sport management. These programs, at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels, prepare practitioners, administrators, researchers, faculty members, and leaders for all levels of education.

Job Description
40% Research: Pursue a focused line of research inquiry in sport management – including but not limited to areas in organizational behavior, marketing, finance, sociology, or related area. Seek external funding to support research activities and interests. Develop collaborative relationships with faculty members within and across the University, including various research centers at KU, as well as globally. Direct student research including projects, theses and dissertations.
40% Teaching: Teach and evaluate students in the degree programs of Sport Management at the undergraduate, masters (online), and doctoral level. Courses assigned may be in-person, online or hybrid. Advise and mentor undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degree students.
20% Service: Contribute to the service mission of the Department of HSES, School of Education and Human Sciences and the University of Kansas.
