Description
POSITION: Assistant Professor LOCATION: Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology, Warner College of Natural Resources, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA APPOINTMENT: Nine-month, tenure-track, academic faculty, with a 30% Extension component DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Establish an internationally recognized program of externally funded research and scholarly activity, including support for diverse graduate students and involvement and mentoring of undergraduate students; 2) teach the equivalent of approximately one course per year of broad interest to students in fish, wildlife, and conservation biology; 3) significantly engage in CSU extension (https://extension.colostate.edu/) activities and outreach related to human-wildlife conflict and coexistence in Colorado and beyond, and; 4) participate in other professional duties, university service, and outreach activities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: 1) Ph.D. in Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Conservation Biology, or related field; 2) record of scholarly publication in the field of human-wildlife conflict and coexistence and ability to secure external funding Highly Desirable: 1) Excellence in research in human-wildlife conflict and coexistence as evidenced by a strong record of research and publication; 2) Record of obtaining research funding from a diversity of sources; 3) relevant and impactful teaching and student mentoring experience; 4) experience working collaboratively across disciplines and with governmental agencies (e.g., state wildlife agencies, USDA), non-governmental organizations, and local communities to co-produce and apply science-based actionable knowledge; 5) demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion in fish, wildlife, and conservation biology fields.
