Job Summary:
Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology and Counseling with a specialty in Forensic Psychology.
We are seeking to hire a tenure-track faculty member for the Forensic Psychology Master’s Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in Teaneck, NJ. The position will include teaching, research, and service responsibilities.

The MA forensic program is housed within FDU’s School of Psychology and Counseling (SoPC). SoPC has two campuses in New Jersey. This position will be located on the Metropolitan Campus of FDU in Teaneck, New Jersey. The Metropolitan campus offers Doctoral Programs in Clinical and School Psychology; Master’s Programs in Psychopharmacology, Forensic Psychology, General Theoretical Psychology, and School Psychology; and an Undergraduate Program in Psychology with tracks in Forensic Psychology, Mental Health, Organizational Behavior, and Consumer Psychology. The Florham campus offers graduate programs in I/O Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Required Qualifications:
This candidate will contribute to and benefit from the strong interdisciplinary faculty research spanning fields within SoPC including clinical, forensic, developmental, social, cognitive, school, and counseling. Additionally, FDU Health is a collaborative, interdisciplinary partnership between FDU’s Schools of Psychology and Counseling, Nursing and Allied Health, and Pharmacy and Health Sciences, creating opportunities for vertical and cross-discipline synergies that benefit faculty and their students, and the overall learning environment.
Faculty within the Forensic Psychology MA program consistently produce scholarly work and are identified as key experts by governmental organizations (domestic and international), community organizations, public and private educational institutions, and service organizations to address best practices. Research conducted within the Forensic Psychology MA program includes, but is not limited to: investigation of individuals with paraphilic (deviant sexual) interests and disorders; sexual grooming behaviors of offenders; risk assessments and treatment of forensic psychiatric patients; interventions for college students founds responsible for sexual misconduct; a multi-prong approach to strengthening internet child safety; and adaptation of culturally appropriate interventions for legal-involved individuals with addictions. Faculty in the program have received funding from the Department of Justice, New Jersey Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers, National Institute of Health, and others to support research endeavors.
The eligible candidate must have a Clinical Ph.D./Psy.D. with specialized training and/or experience in forensic practice, and either have a license or be license eligible. A track record of research and publishing in the field of clinical and/or forensic psychology is preferred We are seeking an excellent teacher, mentor for our students, and research supervisor (to undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. students). The position has the possibility of future leadership within the Forensic Psychology Master’s Program. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
